OXYGENATE YOUR BRAIN

If you donot exercise there is a lack of oxygen to the brain, your ability to concentrate is reduced. This prevents you from recalling with ease. It also prevents you from learning new information easily.

It may be that you have never exercised regularly, but it is never too late to begin. You can do some simple cardio workouts at home. You can buy a DVD with aerobics exercises. You can get a personal trainer who can take you through the exercises for beginners. Or you can join a group in the neighbourhood where aerobics is taught. There are fitness sites where you can look up aerobics workouts. The awareness and popularity of aerobics has grown tremendously recently.

Aerobic exercise is recommended six times a week, but you must try to exercise at least three times a week.

Running is an excellent form of aerobic exercise. It keeps your muscles fit and your blood flowing, bringing the colour to your cheeks and supplying the much needed oxygen to your brain. 20 minutes a day of running is enough to keep you in fit form.

Your energy levels will rise and you will notice that you are more alert. You will find too that your concentration levels have increased and you are quicker in your responses. You can also add weight lifting to your running as an additional routine to follow for strengthening your muscles (under supervision and after consultation with a doctor if it is fine for you to do so), though it is not a necessary addition for boosting your memory power. The benefits of such a regular programs are manifold.

Those who led more sedentary lifestyles were not so alert and their memories were not so sharp.
